BANGLADESH HISTORY RESEARCH SOCIETY

About Us

Who We Are

Bangladesh History Research Society (BHRS) is an independent, research-oriented institution dedicated to the study, preservation, and promotion of the history, heritage, culture, and intellectual traditions of Bangladesh and the wider Bengal region. Established in response to the growing need for a coordinated and professionally driven platform for historical research, the institution brings together scholars, researchers, students, and heritage professionals from diverse academic backgrounds.

Historical research in Bangladesh has often been conducted through individual initiatives and scattered institutional efforts. BHRS aims to address this gap by fostering collaborative research, digital archiving, heritage documentation, and scholarly publication within a structured and internationally oriented framework. Through interdisciplinary approaches and academic partnerships, the Society works to generate new knowledge, preserve historical resources, and encourage critical engagement with the historical experiences of Bangladesh and Bengal.

BHRS aspires to serve as a leading platform for historical inquiry — connecting research, archives, and public scholarship while contributing to both national and global understandings of the region’s past.
